Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• United States Citizen
• No Felony or Domestic Assault convictions
• Valid Driver's License
• Age: 21

New dates for testing and acceptance of applications will be posted as soon as they are available for the next hiring cycle. Along with a written exam, a physical ability test will also be required. If you do not already exercise and are planning to apply as an officer you need to start a progressive training program so that you will be physically prepared to complete all of the required tests. The physical testing includes a 1.5 mile run, vertical jump, sit ups, push ups, and a 120 yard shuttle run.

The following is the starting pay scale for officers:
Police Trainee: $2,600 per month. Police Officer: Starting pay $3,388.02 per month. Those who are currently law enforcement certified may be paid $40,655.68 annually at the time of hire. Based upon the demonstrated skill level, the candidate may be eligible for an accelerated Field Training Program.
