The Lincoln Police Department is investigating an assault that occurred on October 7th 2006 at about 2:00 A.M. in northeast Lincoln. James Danahay, age 20, had attended a party in the area of 50th & Cleveland and was standing in the street afterwards when he became involved in a verbal exchange with an unknown young man. The unknown man punched James Danahay in the mouth, causing him to fall and hit the pavement. The suspect left the scene prior to LPD’s arrival. Witnesses have given officers a description of a suspect as a W/M in his early 20’s, large build with light colored hair. The suspect may have injured his hand in the assault. James Danahay sustained critical head injuries including a skull fracture and brain hemorrhage as a result of the assault. He is currently in the intensive care unit at Bryan LGH West. LPD is asking for anyone who may have seen this assault on the night of the 7th or anybody who may have information on this case to please contact the department or call Crimestoppers at 475-3600.
