The Lincoln Police Department announces the retirement of Sergeant Jeff Gade after 28 years of distinguished service with the Lincoln Police Department. Jeff Gade was hired in January of 1978 as a uniformed patrol officer. Gade worked several shifts and in all areas of the department. Jeff Gade was assigned as an investigator in the Criminal Division where he worked diligently on numerous cases and helped to bring many investigations to a successful conclusion. Jeff Gade was promoted to Sergeant in 1992. Sergeant Gade supervised officers on the team level until he was assigned to the Family Crimes Unit. Under the direction of Sergeant Jeff Gade the Family Crimes Unit investigated serious crimes against children and missing juveniles. Jeff Gade will be starting a new career with Lincoln Public Schools in the Human Resources division
