City of Lincoln Police Department 2006 News Releases |
The Lincoln Police Department has made 5 arrests in connection with 50 graffiti vandalisms that have occurred in the Capitol City over the past several months. These vandalisms total over $5000.00 in damage to homes, businesses and public buildings and areas. The five individuals who were arrested include an 18 year old young woman and four teen boys, ages 15 and 14 years old. The arrests were made after an officer responded to a vandalism in progress at Lewis Ball Field on March 4th, 2006. The officer caught two of these individuals responsible for this graffiti vandalism and was able to identify several other similar cases that they were responsible for in the area. More suspects were developed due to the style of graffiti that the young people were using that associated them with a local gang. This information helped to identify them and enabled officers to make the arrests.
