The Lincoln Police Department Traffic Enforcement Unit will be conducting a special traffic enforcement project beginning Monday, April 24, 2006. This enforcement effort will run for two weeks during which time the officers will be concentrating on violations of speed, traffic signals, unsafe lane changes, inattentive drivers, and aggressive drivers. The goal of this project is the reduction of speeding vehicles and the reduction of traffic signal violations on Highway 2. A grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety will allow for additional officer hours to be assigned to this project. We are asking all motorists who travel this area to please observe the posted speed limits, wear your safety belt, and drive attentively.
