The Lincoln Police Department conducted a Safety and Sobriety Checkpoint on Friday evening, December 8, 2006. Officers conducted the sobriety checkpoint between 10:00 P.M. and 2:00 A.M. on West ‘O’ between Sun Valley Blvd. and 1st Street.

Officers focused primarily on drivers who were impaired and also looked for other traffic and safety violations.

The Lincoln Police Department issued the following citations during the checkpoint:

Driving While Intoxicated - 7

Refusal of Pre-Test - 1
Minor in Possession - 2
Open Container - 1
Driving Under Suspension - 5
Possession of Narcotics - 4
Poss of Drug Paraphernalia - 1
No Insurance - 3
No Valid Registration - 3
Other Traffic - 3
Warnings - 18
Warrants - 8
