Lincoln Woman Found Murdered in Apartment, One in Custody
The Lincoln Police Department has arrested Cesar Fermeli Penado, age 36, for the early morning murder of Maria Rosario Moreno, age 38.
Officers were contacted on the west side of the Hall of Justice at about 4:00 a.m. this morning by individuals who had driven to the police station. These people told police that a family member was at his residence at 152 N. 32nd Street, Apt. #36, and that he was making threats to harm himself. Officers contacted Cesar Penado at his apartment on North 32nd Street and took him into custody. Officers received information from this investigation that we should also check welfare of Maria Rosario Moreno who lives at 830 South 10th Street, Apt #10. Maria Moreno is the former girlfriend of Cesar Penado. Officers discovered Moreno in her apartment and found that she had been murdered. The exact time of her death is still being determined.
Cesar Fermeli Penado has been arrested for 1st Degree Murder and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony in connection with the murder.
