A 38 year old local transient, Rudy L. Rivera has been arrested for attempted 1st degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony in connection with a downtown stabbing monday evening, September 24th. Officers and medical were called to the alley 13th to 14th Street, O to N Street at 8:48 p.m. after a passerby discovered 29 year old Brian Hamburg in the alley with multiple stab wounds to his chest. Hamburg was transported to Bryan LGH Hospital where he underwent surgery and is currently in critical condition. Investigators were able to review the surveillance video from Brother's Bar at 14th and O Street and could see that Hamburg entered that establishment prior to the stabbing and that he was with two other men. One of the suspects, Rudy Rivera was located at the City Mission and taken into custody on an unrelated warrant. Rivera was arrested later that day. The other person seen on the video was also located and at this time has not been arrested in connection with the stabbing.
