Lincoln Woman Arrested for Attempted 1st Degree Murder
The Lincoln Police Department has arrested Christine Croissant-Smith, age 46, for attempted 1st degree Murder in connection with an incident that occurred at her home on September 5th 2007.
Christine Croissant-Smith was in her car with her six year old son who was asleep when she drove the car into her garage, closed the garage door and kept the car running in an attempt to kill her and her son. The six year old woke up some time later and discovered his mother unconscious in the car. After an attempt to revive his mother, the boy went into their home and called 911.
Police and Rescue responded to the home at 2106 Heather Lane at 12:02 a.m. Both parties were transported to Bryan LGH West and treated for carbon monoxide poisoning.
The six year old has been placed into protective custody.
Croissant-Smith was arrested on Thursday, September 13th at 10:00 a.m.
