December DWI Project Summary
During the month of December, the Lincoln Police Department conducted a visible enforcement effort by officers to remove drug and alcohol impaired drivers from our roadways. With the assistance of an overtime grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety, on-duty officers were supplemented with additional officers during peak enforcement times. Officers made 185 DWI arrests during the enforcement effort in the month of December.
There was one fatal collision in Lincoln during the month of December, resulting in one death. Lincoln had 10 people die in car accidents in 2007, in 9 separate fatal collisions.
