Three Suspects in Custody for TierOne Bank Robbery
At 12:15pm, Lincoln Police Officers responded to a bank robbery at TierOne, 5300 S. 56th Street. Three men entered the business, one armed with an object resembling a club. They were shouting commands at the four bank employees. All three suspects left with an undisclosed amount of money. They were seen leaving in a light blue Chrysler 5th Avenue with North Dakota license plates. This vehicle was recovered a short distance away.
Just twenty-eight minutes later, a deputy with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office observed a Chevy Caprice traveling eastbound from N. 84th Street along Highway 6. Three men inside the vehicle matched the description of the bank robbery suspects. The deputy contacted them and promptly took two men into custody. The third man fled north through a field. The foot pursuit engaged LSO, LPD and the State Patrol helicopter. The final suspect was ultimately apprehended approximately one mile north of Highway 6.
Three men have been lodged in jail for Robbery. Mugshots are not available at this time.
