Police Department
Holiday DWI Project Summary
During the month of December, the Lincoln Police Department joined law enforcement agencies nationwide by participating in the "You Drink & Drive. You Lose." enforcement campaign. The project ran from Tuesday, December 1, 2009 through Saturday, January 2, 2010. Officers conducted visible enforcement to remove drug and alcohol impaired drivers from our roadways. With an assistance of an overtime grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety, on-duty officers were supplemented with additional officers during peak enforcement times.
The number of DWI arrests, during this project, totaled 181. Of those 181 arrests,
| 78 | arrests were DWI-Aggravated (drivers with a BAC over .15) |
| 1 | arrest was over .30 BAC |
| 3 | arrests were for felony DWI violations |
| 7 | arrests were for .02 violations |
| 4 | arrests were for refusal |
| 2 | arrests were DRE (drug recognition) cases |
