Warrant Detail Nets 58 Arrests
On June 24, 2010, members of Lincoln Police Department’s Southwest Team, Southeast Team, Northwest Team, SWAT Team and Canine Unit conducted a large scale arrest warrant detail. Thirty-six officers saturated the city in two-person teams, contacting as many offenders as possible. The organized effort was to help reduce the high volume of arrest warrants in Lincoln. The detail proved successful with 271 warrants attempted and 58 warrants served. The individuals arrested were wanted for a variety offenses including Vandalism, Trespassing, Domestic Assault and Narcotics.
Meanwhile, five officers also participated in a “saturation detail”. They patrolled specific areas of Southwest Lincoln, taking an assertive approach to any offenses observed. These officers issued 71 traffic citations and 117 warning citations. In addition, 9 narcotic citations were written and 7 misdemeanor citations were issued for offenses including False Information, Consuming in Public and Disturbing the Peace.
