Roundabout Traffic Enforcement Project
During the month of September, the Lincoln Police Department Traffic Unit and Northwest Team officers will be conducting a high visibility traffic enforcement project at the N. 14th & Superior roundabout. Officers will be monitoring the roundabout, watching for violations that have led to more than 46 accidents since the beginning of the year. The primary violation at that location has been Failure to Yield Right of Way - entering motorists failing to yield to traffic already in the roundabout.
This enforcement project will coincide with a public information and education effort on roundabout use conducted by the Public Works Department. Both projects are funded by grants from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety. The goal of this cooperative effort is to better inform the public on proper roundabout use and reduce accidents at this location.
