Upon officer arrival, 19-year-old Richard P. Randall, Jr., of Plattsmouth, was located just inside the front door, unresponsive. Richard Randall was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second man, 18-year-old Angok Wal, of Bellevue, was also located inside the residence. He sustained a bullet wound to his buttocks. Angok Wal was treated at a local hospital and released.

Joseph was lodged for Aid and Abet 1st degree Murder. A handgun, which may have been used in the homicide, was recovered.
Later that night, officers arrested a third party, 21-year-old Joshua R. Lock. He is believed to have been with Benson and Bratt during the robbery attempt. Lock was located at his residence and lodged at the Lancaster County Jail for Attempt Robbery and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony.
