"You Drink & Drive. You Lose." Campaign Results
The Lincoln Police Department participated in the "You Drink & Drive. You Lose." campaign from November 29, 2014 through January 1, 2015. Officers conducted high visibility traffic enforcement and took a zero tolerance approach to drivers under the influence of alcoholic liquor and/or drugs. During that time, the Lincoln Police Department made 149 DUI arrests, an increase of 11% from 2013. Funding for this project was provided by the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
Of the 149 DUI arrests,
the average BAC was .161, with the highest at .304 BAC.
32 were arrested for at least their 2nd offense. (21%) 1 was arrested for 5th offense. 10 were arrested for refusing a chemical test. 4 were arrested for drug impairment (DRE) offenses. 9 were arrested for .02 violations (under the age of 21). 27 invoved a motor vehicle accident. (18%)
