Winter Wonderland: Parking Bans
When a residential clean-up operation is required after a snow storm, the Mayor will declare a Residential Parking Ban. At this time parking is first banned on the even numbered side of the street. Once the Mayor has terminated that ban, parking will be banned on the odd numbered side of the street.
During a snow emergency, parking is banned on both sides of emergency snow routes, arterial streets and City bus routes. The ban is in effect until terminated by the Mayor. The news media, the City website and 5 CITY-TV will indicate when these bans go into effect and when they are rescinded. For a map and additional information please visit lincoln.ne.gov, keyword: "snow". If a car is towed during a parking ban call the City of Lincoln Police Service Desk at 441-7204 for location information.
