Pedestrian Signals
- The signal must be in clear view from the beginning of the crosswalk to 75% across.
- The pedestrian signal must be 8 feet high as measured from the sidewalk.
- The pedestrian head, clamshell and all associated hardware must be undamaged.
- The banding of the pedestrian head must be tight and undamaged.
- The pedestrian head clamshell must be attached to the pole right side up.
- The wiring of the pedestrian head must be secure and of proper color code.
- Spare conductors in the pedestrian head clam shell must be taped back.
- The insulation of the individual conductors must not rub on or be pinched against the pole.
- The wire entrance hole in the pole must be behind the pedestrian signal clamshell.
