- Continue to watch traffic as you cross.
- Stand back one step from the curb while waiting to cross the street.
- Use pedestrian crossing lights. Press the button for the "walk" signal.
- Bike riders should follow the rules of the road for operating a vehicle.
- Do not enter a crosswalk when the hand signal is flashing or solid orange.
- Bikes must be walked in the pedestrian crosswalk.
- When weather is bad allow extra time for cars to stop.
- Keep your school work and papers in a sack so they won't blow into the street.
- Allow plenty of time to get to school. However, it is better to be late than unsafe.
