Sidewalks

Sidewalks...Underfoot & Underrated

If the sidewalks in Lincoln were set in a straight line, you could walk nearly 1,700 miles to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco!

We usually take sidewalks for granted. Yet, they play an important role in the quality of life we expect in Lincoln. Years of wear and tear can damage sidewalks, and many Lincoln walks need repaired. For this reason, the Public Works and Utilities Department has implemented a Sidewalk Repair Program.

Lincoln's Repair Program

The goal of this program is to make sidewalks safe for pedestrians and help prevent injuries caused by damaged walks. When sidewalks crack and break, it creates hazards for pedestrians. Many people, especially the physically challenged, elderly, and children, have trouble crossing damaged sidewalks. This program helps to minimize these hazards.
