"P" St. Streetscape Project

11th Street to Centennial Mall

March 7, 2014 Construction Update

The contractor again took advantage of the weather during the past week to continue working on the south side of "P" St. from 11th St. through to 14th St.

Work continues at the southwest corner of 11th & "P" St. on reconstructing the sidewalk, curb ramps and some roadway pavement. The traffic signal pole was relocated this week. The contractor expects to have the sidewalk, landscape curb, and roadway pavement poured back by the end of next week. Concrete cure times will affect how long it takes for the the sidewalk to be re-opened to pedestrians.

Work continues at the southwest corner of 13th & "P" St. to construct portions of the storm drain and bio-swale areas. During the next week, the contractor will work on completing an inlet on the south side of "P" St. They will also work on removal and replacement of the driveways from the bank and parking garage during the next few weeks. Sidewalk access in this area has been changing, but access is still being maintained to all of the businesses. Please continue to pay attention to the pedestrian routing that is in place.

The contractor continues work at the southwest corner of 14th & "P" St. on the sidewalk, landscape curb, and roadway pavement. Access is still being maintained to all of the businesses. Please be aware of the pedestrian routing and ongoing changes to the sidewalks around this area.

The Girls State High School Basketball Tournament is currently underway – March 6-8. The Boys State Tournament begins on March 13. While you are in and around the downtown area, please help us to maintain a safe work zone and follow all pedestrian detours. Also, please remember that all businesses remain open and access to businesses and properties will be available throughout the duration of the work.
