Wastewater Facilities Master Plan Update Open House

Where – Lux Middle School, 7800 High Street
Park in North lot
When – January 29, 2008
Time – 5:00 – 7:00
Presentation at 5:30

The public is invited to an open house on the five-year update of the master plan for the City's wastewater facilities. The presentation outlines the short-term and long-term wastewater infrastructure requirements needed across the community to keep pace with the City's expected growth as noted in the City-County Comprehensive Plan.

The open house will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 29 in the multi-purpose room at Lux Middle School, 7800 High St. Parking is available in the north lot. The presentation is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.

The master plan identifies the future needs for wastewater pipelines, operations and treatment for all areas of the City of Lincoln. It recommends the City handle the increased need with two options that are more environmentally-friendly than building new facilities: expanding existing wastewater treatment facilities and using underground peak flow storage facilities at key locations in the system.

The operation and maintenance of the City's wastewater system are funded by user fees and not taxes.
