Open House Planned for 17th and Holdrege Overpass Study

The public is invited to an open house Tuesday, May 20 to discuss the future of the overpass at 17th and Holdrege streets. Citizens can attend the meeting any time from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Police substation on the northwest corner of 27th and Holdrege streets. Parking is available in the lot at the station.

The existing bridge at 17th and Holdrege streets is deteriorating, and the replacement or removal of the bridge is recommended. The City has initiated a study to determine the best option for the future of the overpass. Options include removal, replacement or closure, and the City's study team is seeking public input on the decision. At the open house, the public can learn more about the options and give their opinions.

For more information, contact Kris Humphrey, the City's project manager at 441-7592 or Jon G. Olsen with Olsson Associates at 458-5614.
