Wastewater Projects Under Construction
- • Northeast Wastewater Treatment Facility Grit Handling and Primary Pump Station Improvements
- The grit improvements include: installation of new grit classification, cleaning, washing and conveyance handling equipment. The existing grit tankage and process building will be modified to accommodate the new grit system. An addition to the existing building will house the cleaning, conveyance, handling and load out system.
- • Selected Replacements
- Selected replacement projects are those that are done in order to maintain the current wastewater infrastructure. There are several types of projects as follows: manhole rehabilitation, open trench, point repairs, pipe bursting and cured in place piping (CIPP).
- • Stevens Creek Basin Trunk Sewer Phase II
- The Phase II trunk sewer will have a pipe diameter of 66-inches and will extend from the end of Phase I to just south of the Murdock Trail (approximately N. 94th Street).
Completed Wastewater Projects
- • N 31st Street Pump Station Improvements
- The primary focus of the Pump Installation, Electrical and HVAC Improvements project is to replace two existing 25 hp pumps with two 60 hp pumps to accommodate anticipated future flows to the lift station.
- • Beal Slough Relief Trunk Sewer Phase I
- This relief trunk sewer adds 60-inch, 36-inch, and 30-inch diameter piping that runs parallel to an existing line.
- • Deadmans Run Stream Bank Repair
- Construction repairs include: soil excavation to remove and replace the eroded bank; repair of two storm drain outlets; installation of steel sheet piling and protective rock rip-rap surfacing to a new, more stable bank slope; final earthen sloping and seeding of the bank and areas disturbed by the construction.
- • Lift Station Telemetry Replacement and Improvements
- The existing telemetry system for remote monitoring and controlling of the lift stations is being replaced with updated and newer technology that utilizes a more reliable radio telemetry communication system, rather than the current hard-wired telephone system.
- • Northeast Salt Creek Basin Sanitary Trunk Sewer Phase I
- This project is intended to serve Lincoln's growth as designated in the Comprehensive Plan for Tier IA, IB and IC, as well as a limited extended area outside the designated areas.
- • Northeast Treatment Facility Nitrification and Capacity Improvements

- • Oak Creek Basin Sanitary Trunk Sewer Phase I
- This project includes replacement of sewer from Air Park Road to West Mathis Street and new barrel and manhole improvements for the existing Oak Creek siphon at West Mathis Street.
- • Salt Valley Trunk Sewer Phase V
- This project consists of 60-inch diameter and 48-inch diameter pipe that connects to Phase IV on the north and runs south to connect with an existing 48-inch trunk line south of Old Cheney Road.
- • Stevens Creek Basin Trunk Sewer Phase I
- This project was the first phase of a multi-phased project for providing sanitary sewer service to meet future growth in the Stevens Creek Basin on the east side of the City.
- • Theresa Street Facility Improvements
- These improvements provide additional capacity for meeting future growth requirements and the City's continuing obligations to protect the public health and the environment.
- • Upper Beal Slough Trunk Sewer
- Extending of the trunk line in Upper Beal Slough drainage basin provides for meeting future growth and development needs of the City in the Basin as outlined in the City's Comprehensive Plan.
- • Upper Southeast Salt Creek Sub-Basin Sewers
- This project extended the wastewater service area to provide for additional growth in the quickly expanding southern portion of Lincoln. The general project are is 27th to 40th, from Yankee Hill to Rokeby Road.
- • West 'O' Street Trunk Sewer Extension
- This project extended the trunk sewer west from SW 40th Street and the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway (BNSFR) to provide sewer service to areas designated by the Planning Department as Tier I.
