Phase 1 - Northeast Salt Creek Basin Sanitary Trunk Sewer Improvements
Project No. 701479
Construction of the Northeast Salt Creek Basin Sanitary Trunk Sewer project began on October 15, 2007. The new trunk line begins on N. 70th St. at a connection to the existing Deadman's Trunk Sewer and then proceeds north and west along Salt Creek to N. 56th St. The trunk sewer will be tunneled under N. 56th St. so traffic flow will not be interrupted on the street. This line will provide service to future growth areas generally located north of Salt Creek and west of N. 70th St in the basin.
Advance funding for construction is being provided by a developer and development in the basin. Tax increment financing (TIF funds) and sanitary sewer revenue funds are to be used for reimbursing the developer for the advance funding.
Current construction work includes building siphon structures, installing valve gates, video television inspection, testing of manholes and piping, and restoring of top soil.
