
Theresa Street Wastewater Treatment Facility - Nitrification and Capacity Improvements Construction Project Update - November 2007

Construction continues on the advanced treatment process and capacity improvements to the Lincoln Wastewater System's Theresa St. Wastewater Treatment Facility. These improvements provide additional capacity for meeting future growth requirements and the City's continuing obligations to protect the public health and the environment.

The new central treatment train has been started up and met the demonstration period treatment performance requirements on October 12, 2007. On this same day, the central train was determined to be substantially complete and placed into full service.
At this time, the new central train and existing west side treatment train are treating the daily wastewater flows received at the treatment facility.
Remaining construction work includes: replacement of the existing final clarifier mechanisms for the east and west side process treatment trains; completion of roadway paving; final grading; and, sodding and seeding of disturbed site areas.
