There are currently a number of projects in the planning, development or implementation stage which should reduce the rail/vehicular/pedestrian conflicts at street crossings. These projects include:
- Antelope Valley roadway, elevated intersection in the vicinity of N. 16th Street and State Fair Road

- Closure of the grade crossing at the 35th Street, Adams Street and Cornhusker Highway intersection
- An underpass at the BNSF rail corridor near N. 29th St at Huntington Ave.
- SW 40th Street overpass, south of West "O" Street
- South 68th Street, south of Hickman
- Firth Road, east of South 82nd Street
- Quiet Zone - BNSF south of Cornhusker from 33rd St. to 70th St.
- Quiet Zone - West Lincoln Corridor from 'A' St. south to Saltillo Rd.
