About the Artist
My name is Isabelle Paik. I am 13 yrs old and an eighth grader at Lewis and Clark Middle School in Bellevue Nebraska. I have been born and raised in Nebraska and currently live in the Plattsmouth area. I have always enjoyed drawing and have taken several art classes throughout my school years. Last year I participated in an art project for Children's Hospital. My Girl Scout Troop and the Lewis and Clark Art Club painted pictures to hang in the hospital's new wings. I spend a lot of my free time doing community service projects with my troop, volunteering time at the Omaha Zoo as a member of the Jr. Zoo Crew, working at Fontenelle Forest in the Teen Naturalist Trainee program and recently I started up in 4-H. Aside from art, one of my other big loves is horseback riding. I ride weekly and compete in shows a few times a year.
My rain barrel is inspired by Nebraska Farms. I made the background of the barrel to reflect Nebraska's amazing sunsets. I have a deep love of farming and farm life. Cattle in particular have always interested me. I am planning to attend UNL and Major in Animal Science. I am very interested in working in cattle management and breeding. My dream is to have a farm some day. My rain barrel is a representative of the Nebraska Farm and of something that is important me, farming.
