About the Artist
Jessica Prenosil

I was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska and have drawn and painted my whole life. I served as an AmeriCorps Member for Community CROPS from 2009-2010 where I learned about farming, local food systems, and sustainability issues while connecting with our beautiful and diverse community.

Artwork Interpretation
"Community C.R.O.P.S. (Combining Resources Opportunities and People for Sustainability"

Location: Open Harvest, 1618 E South St.

With Community Gardens throughout Lincoln, and a training farm just outside city limits, Community CROPS helps hundreds of people each year to grow food for themselves and their community. CROPS gives me hope for our community in much the same way as Spring time gives hope to all of us for new, bold, bright futures. I wanted my design to reflect that boldness while representing Community CROPS' organization and logo.
