Rain to Recreation Events
On June 10, 2006, approximately 3,000 people made history at the City of Lincoln's 1st Biennial Waterfest. For three hours, guests learned about our most valuable resource -- water. Exhibitors and volunteers helped guests to learn about what they can do to conserve water and reduce pollutants in local streams and lakes.

The first 500 guests to Waterfest 2006 received free Frisbees and a water passport which was marked as they moved through each booth. For attending at least 5 stations, attendees received a complimentary soda, hot dog and chips. In addition, the first 1,000 guests received either a koozie or a water bottle carabiner. Guest enjoyed learning about water quality, participated in hands-on activities including canoe rides and a fishing clinic, observed a raptor release, and listened to a live radio broadcast from 102.7 KFRX.
