Mayor's Neighborhood Roundtable Summary
June 14, 2007

Chairperson Tracy Lines called the meeting to order at 5:03 P.M., Thursday, June 14, 2007, in Room 206, County/City Building, Lincoln, Nebraska. Thirty participants were in attendance.

WELCOME AND INTRODUCTIONS
Tracy Lines Corr opened the meeting and thanked everyone for coming. She asked the participants to introduce themselves and describe activities their neighborhood association conducts. A sign-in sheet was provided for check-in.

ITEMS OF INTEREST:
Nancy Engel is writing a grant to get a graffiti curriculum into the Community Learning Centers and is requesting partners from the neighborhoods. She provided a partner letter which could be included in neighborhood newsletters. Contact her for further information at 441-5658.

MAYOR’S COMMENTS
Mayor Beutler appreciated being able to meet with the representatives of the neighborhood associations for the first time. He desires to continue the Roundtable meetings and wants the format to be self-generated to promote the best interest of the group. The Mayor has been very busy during this first month in office spending most of his time on the budget problem. He also has received many briefings from a myriad of sources regarding the various activities of the City.

OPEN CONVERSATION WITH MAYOR BEUTLER
Mayor Beutler requested input regarding City government, expectations, and issues of concern. The Roundtable engaged in a lively discussion regarding:

Tracy pointed out the value of Roundtable extends beyond merely fielding complains, including collaboration by participants to find resolution to situations by sharing resources and experience. She briefly described the usual meeting. The group indicated the recent reformatting of the Roundtable is productive and assists them in their neighborhood work.

JULY AGENDA
The next meeting of the Mayor’s Neighborhood Roundtable is scheduled for July 12, 2007, 5:30 p.m., in the Mayor’s Conference Room, County/City Building, 555 South 10th Street, 2nd floor. The July agenda will include a presentation on the City Budget including a segment on revenue sources.

There being no other business, the meeting adjourned at 6:10 p.m.
