Lancaster County Sheriff Business Hours

The main office of the Lancaster County Sheriff is located at 575 So. 10th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska, in the Justice and Law Enforcement Center. The office is open to the public from 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, for the purpose of obtaining copies of reports, reporting belated incidents, applying for gun permits, registering sex offenders, applying for criminal history checks, delivering civil process and making civil process deposits. Law enforcement services are available around the clock.

The office is home to the Administrative Support Division (records, extraditions), the Civil Division (service of process, delinquent tax collections), the Criminal Division (investigations, warrants), the Patrol Division (calls for service), and the Special Services Division (building and court security, prisoner transport.) Special Services also staffs the Motor Vehicle Inspection Station located at 625 No. 46th Street for inspection of out of state and salvage titles.

The Sheriff's Office is staffed 24 hours a day. If necessary, arrangements may be made to purchase report copies, pick up civil process, and meet with deputies after normal business hours. If you are coming to the Sheriff's Office after 4:30 PM, you will have to use the intercom system on the east side of the Justice and Law Enforcement Center to request entry.

The Sheriff's Office has several substations which are not staffed on any regular basis. Denton, Hickman, and Waverly reserve space for on-duty deputies within their existing city offices.
