The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division is commanded by Captain Benjamin Houchin. His staff includes a sergeant, three criminal investigators, one technical criminal investigator (computer related crime), one domestic violence investigator, and two narcotics investigators. The primary function of the Investigations Division is to follow-up on cases which require extensive investigative efforts which would normally not be conducted by road patrol deputies. Additionally, it handles major crime investigations.

Each month the Investigations Division updates LANCASTER LOOKOUT which airs on Time Warner Cable's Showcase channel. This is an effort to get the community involved in apprehending Lancaster County's "Most Wanted." The Investigations Division is dedicated to serving the public by thoroughly investigating serious crimes and processing any relayed information which the public feels law enforcement should know.
