Law Enforcement Memorial
May 15th of every year is Law Enforcement Memorial day across the nation. The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office commemorates the occasion by honoring officers and deputies who have fallen in the line of duty. The Sheriff's Office Honor Guard attends the memorial service which has traditionally been held at the steps of the Nebraska State Capitol in Lincoln. Additionally, the Lancaster County Deputy Sheriff's Association sends representatives to Washington, D.C., each year for police memorial week.
