About the Juvenile Detention Center

What is the Juvenile Detention Center?

The Juvenile Detention Center is a secure community based co-ed correctional facility for youth under 18 years of age located in Lincoln, Nebraska. The facility is staffed around the clock with knowledgeable professionals providing "individual attention" to youth being held. The program is geared toward stimulating each youth physically, emotionally and mentally so their stay is productive and worthwhile.

Who Does the Juvenile Detention Center Serve?

Program services provided:

• Temporary detention for youth while they are being processed through the justice system
• Incarceration for youth who have been adjudicated and ordered by the court to serve a specified period of time

Only youth accused of or found guilty of law violations may be admitted by law enforcement or the court system.

Juvenile Detention Center services are primarily for residents of Lancaster County, under eighteen (18) years of age, who have been accused of or found guilty of committing law violations. The Juvenile Detention Center also houses juveniles from the Office of Juvenile Services as well as the surrounding counties.
