3) ITEMS OF PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: It is the policy of the Lancaster
County Board of Commissioners to accommodate the public to the greatest
extent possible. Therefore, this agenda has been prepared with items

will offer special rates to employees of the County.

M. A resolution rescinding resolution 98-149 which directed the county
to conduct a study regarding the vacation of a portion of Railroad
Street, Alexander Street and the alley running east and west between
the two streets. (98-289)
Diane Staab, Deputy County Attorney, explained they were asking that
Resolution 98-149 be rescinded because it had gone through the process
approximately one year ago. At that time there were problems because
frontage was being taken from one of the landowners. She said they had
visited with the individual and there have been no changes since that
time.
Eagan stated there is an additional problem and explained that if the
road were vacated there would be a landlocked parcel to the rear.
MOTION: Svoboda moved and Hudkins seconded approval. On call Steinman,
Svoboda and Hudkins voted aye. Motion carried.

Review, requested by Lincoln Benefit Life and Firethorn Investment
Company to revise the Lincoln Land Use Plan for property located
southeast of 84th and Van Dorn Streets, from Low Density
Residential to Commercial.
MOTION: Hudkins moved and Svoboda seconded approval of the Consent
Items. On call Hudkins, Steinman and Svoboda voted aye.
Motion carried.
7) ANNOUNCEMENTS:
The Clerk announced that the Lancaster County Board meeting to be held
on Thursday, February 19, 1998 will begin at 8 a.m. instead of 8:30 a.m.
