Currently, there are four political parties recognized under state law in Nebraska. They are the Republican Party, Democratic Party, the Nebraska Party and the Green Party.
Several elected offices are nominated on a partisan basis. These offices are: Governor, Lt. Governor, Secretary of State, State Auditor, State Treasurer, State Attorney General, U.S. Senators, members of the U.S. House of Representatives, County Commissioners, County Clerk, County Attorney, Consolidated Office of County Assessor and Register of Deeds, Clerk of the District Court, County Sheriff, County Treasurer, County Engineer and County Public Defender.
The other elected offices in Nebraska are nominated on a nonpartisan basis.
