Temporary Residency

It is not unusual for residents to experience an improvement in their quality of life because of the positive home-like environment of Lancaster Manor. When this happens, a resident may very well wish to live somewhere with lesser services. The Social Service Department will assist with discharge planning and will work with agencies in the community to arrange for appropriate accommodations and services based on the desires of the resident and/or responsible party.

An involuntary discharge or transfer is also possible for the following reasons:

  1. Medical health care in accordance with written orders from the attending physician.
  2. Medical emergency to the hospital.
  3. Physical safety of the resident, other residents or employees. For example, incompatibility of roommates may cause a move within the facility. Additional reasons include: health, safety, personal adjustments or changes in level of care.
  4. Rehabilitation has been so successful that Medicaid will only provide financial assistance in a less restrictive setting.
  5. Nonpayment for the residents accommodations.
  6. No longer needing Medicare Services

Except in cases of emergency, a 30 day notice apply. Lancaster Manor will hold a resident's accommodations and receive payment for up to 15 days per hospitalization and for 18 days per calendar year of therapeutic home visits.
