OUR SERVICES
- Acting Medical Director -
Sanat Roy M.D., D. F.A.P.A.
- Medication Management - The Medical Services program provides
individual as well as group education to stress the importance of
responsible and consistent compliance with medications. The purpose of
medication management services is to decrease symptoms related to mental
illness by assessing, prescribing medication and monitoring therapeutic
effects and side effects. Regular medication review and teaching reinforces
wellness and achievement towards the goals of this program; which are to
modify symptoms of mental illness and to increase the patient's insight
regarding his/her illness and how to effectively manage their illness, side
effects, etc.
- Intensive Treatment - Medical Services has psychiatric coverage 24
hours a day, 7 days a week. The availability of inpatient hospital access
as well as partial hospitalization services meets the need for those
patients whose symptoms exacerbate to the point of necessitating more
intensive treatment.
- Access to Care - Patients are screened and gain access to this program
once it is determined that they meet the general criteria set forth by the
Community Mental Health Center of Lancaster County and are an active CMHC
patient. Referrals for Medication Management come from Outpatient and
Community Support programs. These programs have interdisciplinary staffings
where individuals are admitted to the program and identified as appropriate
referrals to Medication Management.
