Mission and Goals
Mission Statement
The Community Mental Health Center of Lancaster County is dedicated to providing
quality mental health care and rehabilitation services for adults, who experience
acute psychological distress or serious mental illness.

2006 Goals for CMHC
- Provide the necessary leadership and support to aid the PIER Project to the level of serving 40 individuals by December 31, 2006 (four intakes per month).
- Improve collections by 10% over last year's figure.
- By utilizing the task force studying electronic records move toward reviewing the marketplace and selecting a vendor to begin implementation and cross-walking case record files to electronic files. (1) Finish specifications; (2) Write RFP.
- Provide leadership in Region V's Vocational Initiative. Assist or hire necessary staff and provide services and placements to another 24 individuals over and above the transitional employment that we provide at Midtown Center and AWARE Programs.
- Reaffirm and continue to reduce stigma by improving awareness and provide accurate information with regard to person with mental illness and their recovery in our community.
- Conduct the Second Annual Nontraditional Arts Festival in the Haymarket. This would be grant funded and would include artists from Region V and Region VI.
- Continue to purchase hardware replacing older, antiquated hardware; update software; and upgrade agency web page.
- Make adequate vans and vehicles available for increase demand. Purchase two minivans and four vehicles during 2006. Spreading acquisition over two fiscal years. Continue to utilize surplus sheriff vehicles.
- Obtain permanent funding for the Mental Health Jail Diversion Project
- Institutionalize continuous quality improvement measures and reporting by every single program in consistent basis.
- Prepare for CARF Accreditation Site Survey; summer, 2006.
