The Patrol Division is commanded by Captain Don Young, II. The Division is comprised of thirty-two sworn uniformed personnel, six supervisors and one captain.

Lancaster County covers an area of 839 square miles, has a population of approximately 250,000 people, 23 cities, towns and villages, twelve state lakes and recreation areas.

Deputies patrol Lancaster County in marked patrol cars, responding to calls for service, enforcing traffic regulations, serving warrants, conducting follow-up, giving presentations, and generally assisting citizens.

The Patrol Division responds to approximately 12,000 calls for service annually. Many of these calls require follow-up investigation by the deputy.
