Crimestoppers


What is Crimestoppers?
The Lincoln/Lancaster County Crime Stoppers program was founded in 1980 to assist local law enforcement in solving crime. The local Crime Stoppers program, one of over 800 other similar Crime Stopper programs in the nation, is governed by a volunteer board of directors working in cooperation with the Lincoln Police Department.

How does it work?
Crimestoppers is confidential and will pay up to $1000.00 for information leading to an arrest and/or conviction for a crime. If you have information about a crime please call 475-3600 You do not give your name. You will be given an identification number and if the information you give results in an arrest or conviction for a crime you may be eligible for a reward.

Does it really work?
To date, Crime Stoppers has received over 17,000 calls, resulting in more than 6,000 cases solved, and over 3,500 arrests. Crime Stoppers has also contributed to recovery of stolen property and contraband valued at $7 million.

ROBBERY
Lincoln Police are investigating a ROBBERY that occurred in the area of 27th St., 'W' to Vine St. on Sunday 11-07-2008 at approximately 5:17pm.
A 56yo female victim was walking SB on 27th St when a b/m or h/m, LSW dark hoody with white shirt underneath, ran from behind and grabbed vic's purse from her shoulder knocking her to the ground.

BURGLARY
Lincoln Police are investigating a BURGLARY that occurred at Epp Concrete and Construction/3128 S. 6th St. sometime over the weekend of Friday 10-24-2008 and Monday 10-27-2008.
Access was gained to the business by unknown means. Taken were the following items:

Three Palm One, Palm Pilots.
Three Palm Battery Chargers.
USB removable thumb drive.
Cash Money.
Yellow Palm Pilot hard case.

LPD Case: A8-107752
10-29-2008

ROBBERY
Lincoln Police are investigating an attempted armed Robbery that occurred in the parking lot of 5800 Old Cheney Rd. on Sunday 10-26-2008 at around 9:35pm.
Our victim was getting into his parked car when he was confronted at gun point by an unknown male party. A brief struggle ensued and a second unknown person tried to help the robber, but they were un-successful and were scared off. Both left the area in a white older car, possibly a Pontiac Grand Am or similar. They were last see west bound on Old Cheney Rd.

Robber #1: Dark skinned possible black male, late teens to early 20's wearing a brown button up shirt, jeans with a belt, blue bandanna over his face.

Robber #2: Dark skinned possible black male, unknown clothing description, face was covered.

ROBBERY
Lincoln Police are investigating an attempted armed Robbery that occurred in the 600 block of S. 18th St. on Saturday 10-25-2008 at approximately 1220am.
Our victim was making a delivery of sandwiches and was confronted by 3 unknown male parties. One of them was armed with a black semi-automatic pistol. The victim gave up the property and was left un-hurt.

Robber #1: Hispanic male, 16-19 years old, 5'6 to 5'8 tall, last seen wearing a black or dark blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Robber #2: Hispanic male, 16-19 years old, 5'6 to 5'8 tall, last seen wearing a black or dark blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Robber #3: Hispanic male, 16-19 years old, 5'6 to 5'8 tall, last seen wearing a black or dark blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

BURGLARY
Lincoln Police are investigating a burlary that occurred at Walker Tire/2244 N. Cotner Blvd. over the weekend of Oct 11th to the 13th, 2008.
The front north glass window was broken out to gain entry to the business. The following items were taken:
A Sony 40 inch TV
Petty cash
3 packs of of Marloboro cigarettes
A 1986 Maroon over silver in color Chevy El Camino NE license PQN086

LPD Case: A8-102243

BURGLARY
Lincoln Police are investigating are a significant burlary that occurred at Information Technology Inc/1345 Old Cheney Rd. on the night of November 11th 2008.
A glass pane was removed from south building to gain entry. Taken was 16 laptop computers with an approximate value of $8000.00. Video showed 2 black male subjects inside the business taking the items. Most of the computers were Hewlett Packard (HP) brand.

** COLD CASE INVESTIGATION **

On August 26, 1999 just before 8:00 AM, Officers were sent to 510 Cottonwood Drive in Lincoln, NE. on a medical call. Officers found the victim, Kenneth Genuchi deceased at his home. The case has been classified as a HOMICIDE.

This case has remained unsolved.

Recently, money has been donated to Crime Stoppers in hopes of generating new leads or information.
