LTU APWA Accreditation
Transportation and Utilities Achieves American Public Works Association Accreditation
The City of Lincoln Department of Transportation and Utilities (LTU) was awarded the Accreditation designation from the American Public Works Association (APWA) in December 2018. The APWA Accreditation program recognizes public works agencies that go beyond the requirements of the management practices established nationally in the public works industry.
A three-day site evaluation was conducted on November 5-7, 2018 by an APWA Evaluation Team. During the site visit, 524 practices that are applicable to LTU’s operations were evaluated and scored. Lincoln Transportation and Utilities was designated by the team to be in full compliance in all practices and received the distinct honor of becoming the first agency in the state of Nebraska and the 150th in the nation to be awarded accreditation from the American Public Works Association.
