Leighton from 48th to 70th - Street Improvements

Project Summary

Lincoln on the Move (LTU) is investing in improvements to approximately 1.5 miles of Leighton Avenue from 48th to 70th streets. These improvements will include pavement repair, removal and replacement of pavement, base repairs or replacement, public utility adjustments, and inlet top, median, and curb repairs or replacement. LTU works to gather stakeholder input to offer street improvements and increased safety for all vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists. After connecting with neighbors and reviewing a proposal to construct a mini-roundabout, a new proposal to implement signage, decrease radiuses, adjust curbs and reduce speeds in this area on Leighton Avenue from 35 to 30 mph is being studied. This proposal offers increased safety measures for the surrounding neighborhood and other travelers.
