56th and Yankee Hill Road

Safety Improvement Project

The purpose of this project is to mitigate crashes and improve traffic operations at 56th and Yankee Hill Road.

Scope of Work

This project included construction of a roundabout at the intersection of South 56th Street and Yankee Hill Road, as well as approach roadways that extend approximately ¼ miles east and west of the intersection along Yankee Hill Road and approximately ¼ miles north and south of the intersection along South 56th Street. Additional work included storm sewer and drainage improvements.

Schedule

Construction began in June 2020, and the intersection opened to traffic in December 2020. The project was coordinated with the adjacent 56th Street from Bridle Lane to Thompson Creek Boulevard Project to minimize impacts to area residents and the traveling public.
