Capital Improvement Program - Transportation

A capital improvement program (CIP) is a blueprint for planning a community's public capital spending and is one of the most important responsibilities of municipal government. The CIP compiles all City projects to be budgeted in the next two years or planned for over the next six years. Each City department projects capital needs and creates an improvement program for a six-year period. The Transportation projects included in the current CIP are described here.

System Preservation

This program component focuses on preservation of transportation system assets owned, maintained, and operated by Lincoln Transportation.

System Optimization

This program component focuses on optimization of transportation system assets owned, maintained, and operated by Lincoln Transportation.

System Growth

This program component focuses on growth of new transportation system assets to be owned, maintained, and operated by Lincoln Transportation.

Sidewalk Program

This program component focuses on sidewalk infrastructure assets including walks, curb ramps, and transition areas.

Livable Neighborhoods

This program component for Livable Neighborhoods is a commitment to improving and maintaining strong, vibrant neighborhoods.
