Sustainable Landscapes
Rain Barrels
Capture rainwater from your roof to reduce runoff and save the water for when it's dry.
Rain Gardens
These gardens contain native plants and are designed to temporarily hold rainwater runoff to allow it to soak into the ground.
Pervious Parking Surfaces
Parking lots and driveways paved with pervious surfaces reduce runoff by allowing water to percolate into the underlying soil.
Post Construction Best Management Practices (BMPs)
Structural BMPs are permanent stormwater treatment features incorporated into the design of newly developed or redeveloped properties.
Neighborhood Greenspace
Properly maintained greenspaces can provide a number of benefits, however, this amenity comes with responsibility. The City has developed tools to help aid in the care and maintenance of greenspaces.
Green Roofs
Green roofs provide many benefits including: energy savings, runoff reduction and habitat for wildlife in urban areas.
Rainscaping Lincoln - 2024 Sustainable Landscapes Cost Share Program
The program reimburses Lincoln property owners for 50 percent of qualifying expenses related to approved rainscaping projects, up to $2000. The goal of this program is to improve water quality, reduce runoff, and facilitate infiltration.
