The Lincoln Police Department will join a nationwide ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ traffic enforcement campaign beginning Friday, December 16, 2022, and will continue through Sunday, January 1, 2023. Not only will officers be conducting extra enforcement during this timeframe, but efforts will continue throughout the month of December with specific emphasis on impaired driving to reduce fatal and injury crashes. The Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office (NDOT-HSO) is providing overtime funding for increased enforcement during this campaign.
In 2021, the Lincoln Police Department investigated 7,632 motor vehicle crashes, of which 337 drivers were cited for DWI.
