As part of the Development Services Center, we work with other city and county agencies to streamline the construction process as well as to promote a safe community for the residents of Lincoln and of Lancaster County.

City Attorney's Office

Lincoln City Council makes laws, approves city budgets, and has authority to audit City agencies. The Lincoln City Council has 7 members, 4 from equally populated districts and 3 elected at large.

The Finance Department is composed of five divisions: Accounting, Administration, Budget, City Clerk, City Treasurer and Purchasing.

Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department

The Department of Human Resources is responsible for all personnel activities for the City of Lincoln and Lancaster County.

Lincoln City Libraries fosters the power of reading and provides open access to all forms of information to enrich people's lives every day.

The nine-member Lincoln Commission on Human Rights (LCHR) acts as an advisory body to the Mayor, City Council, and Equal Opportunity Officer and shall be charged with the responsibility of eliminating and preventing discrimination in places of public accommodation, housing and employment.

The Parks and Recreation department is FUNdamental to Lincoln. We manage 133 parks, 134 miles of trails, 89 playgrounds, nine public pools, six recreation centers, five golf courses and four dog runs.

The Lincoln/Lancaster County Planning Department provides technical information and advice to elected and appointed boards and citizens on managing the growth and development of Lincoln and Lancaster County to be efficient, orderly, and attractive, facilitate economic opportunities, and conserve natural and cultural resources.

The Lincoln Police Department is committed to providing quality police services that promote a safe and secure community.

It is the mission of the Transportation and Utilities Department to responsibly deliver, enhance and maintain vital infrastructure and services for the good of our community.

The Urban Development department is responsible for managing Lincoln's share of federal Community Development Block Grant funds, coordinating acquisition of Right of Way and sales of City property, serving as the City's Redevelopment Authority, and managing public parking resources.
