Two Streets to Close Beginning August 12

Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) today announced that portions of two streets will close beginning Monday, August 12. The projects are as follows:

• Adams Street between Sixth and Seventh streets will be reduced to one lane in both directions for bridge deck repairs conducted by the Nebraska Department of Transportation. This closure will be controlled by a traffic signal and drivers should expect delays. This work is scheduled to be completed by August 26.
• Saunders Avenue between 11th and 14th streets will be closed for a water main replacement project. Access to businesses in the area will be maintained. The recommended detour is Cornhusker Highway to 11th Street. This work is scheduled to be completed by mid-October.

Travelers are encouraged to seek an alternate route and exercise caution around these closures. LTU appreciates the public’s patience during these closures and reminds residents that project dates are subject to change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.
